About the Research Committee

The ESPU Research Committee was formed in the fall of 2016. The committee’s vision statement is, “To improve the urological health of children through the advancement of medical research”.

To this effect, the Committee has developed several initiatives including the presentation of educational sessions at annual meetings and, in partnership with the Journal of Pediatric Urology (JPU), a series of educational articles (link to JPU Educational Article page) that are published several times a year. In addition to the educational articles, the Committee and the JPU have joined forces to present a joint educational session at the ESPU annual meeting, which replaced the JPU educational session normally held on Saturday morning. The Committee also assists in the vetting of surveys created by ESPU members for research purposes.

The Committee is currently working on a project to bring together investigators from across the world. This database project would allow ESPU members to connect with other researchers in their area to discover opportunities for mentorship and the sharing of resources. The database is in currently in development, and is scheduled to go live at the 2019 ESPU Annual Meeting.

The committee is composed of eight members, representing various countries in Europe and North America.
