Requirements for FEAPU

Requirements for FEAPU

Please, read carefully the ETR for details.

Certification

To become FEAPU, a candidate has to:

  1. complete the training programme in an accredited centre in a country that is either full member or associate member of the UEMS (see list at www.uems.net) and
  2. pass both parts of the exam (written and oral)

IMPORTANT:

Since 2007, practicing paediatric urologists outside the accredited centres could apply for the exam (minimum period of practicing full time paediatric urology was 4 years). The executive board of the EBPU has decided that this option is no longer needed and the last call for such candidates will be in 2021 taking the exam in 2022.

For more information on the exam, please see the Guidance for FEAPU Qualification examinations.

Re-certification

Requirements

The certification and title of Fellow of the European Academy of Paediatric Urology is issued for a 5- year period and can be renewed based on appropriate CME accreditation. Currently a total of 250 CME points within these 5 years is necessary with 125 out of this pure paediatric urology to get recertified upon application and review by the EBPU Board. The CME points are collected within the EU-ACME Office (European Urology – Accredited Continued Medical Education). The members of ESPU and EAU are automatically registered in this office; other FEAPUs should register in this office individually. The CME points of events accredited by the EU-ACME office are automatically added to registered members. Any other CME points from EU- ACME non-accredited events can either be registered individually using the individual EU-ACME-Account (see the attached instruction sheet) or can be sent individually to the EU-ACME office.

You should login into your own EU-ACME-Account (see instruction sheet) or if you fail to register, you can ask for help from the EU-ACME about your CME points.

In the case of FEAPUs who have had time out due to eg sickness or maternity leave, the FEAPU should contact the EBPU responsible for reaccreditation and be able to provide documentation of the time away from work.
