KAROLINSKA in Stockholm offers a Vacancy for a Consultant Position in Pediatric Urology

The Division of Pediatric Urology at the Department of Pediatric Surgery is in a phase of expansion and wants to recruit a consultant in Pediatric Urology.

Short description:
The Division of Pediatric Urology includes 5 consultants (3 male and 2 female), 1 resident and 2 urotherapists. We are engaged in on-call duties in the Pediatric Surgery program and work in close interactivity with Departments of Nephrology within the Karolinska University hospital, Out-patient Clinics in Stockholm and at Regional Hospitals in Sweden.  
We have advanced equipments for laparoscopic and robotic surgical treatments. Multi-disciplinary teams and national programs include patients with DSD, cloacal malformations and oncology patients.
The division is strongly engaged in research activities, mainly clinical studies, malformation genetics and tissue engineering. As part of Karolinska Institutet we are also engaged in medical educational programs. The center is accredited for education in Pediatric Surgery by EUMS since 2010.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s and Specialist’s Certificated degrees by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare
• Recognition for EU Countries
• Homologation for Non -EU Countries
• Acquiring Swedish language will be needed and this will be supported during an intensive course.

Vacancy for a 2-year fellowship position in pediatric urology

By the end of 2010 we offer a fellowship position for 2 years in the JCPU accredited training program in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

The Department of Pediatric Urology in Utrecht has merged with the University Children's Hospital Amsterdam into one large center hosting 6 staff including 1 fellow, 3 residents and 5 urotherapists, 2 nurse practitioners and urodynamic specialist nurses.

For foreign candidates, acquiring Dutch language will be needed and this will be supported during an intensive course.
