It is envisaged that specialist training offered by this post would be best suited to an applicant who will have already completed a minimum of three (ideally four) years of accredited specialist training in Paediatric Surgery. It is anticipated that the post will be for two years duration.

W2-Professur for Pediatric Urology
(Scholz-Foundation Professorship)

A fixed-term professorship with the status of a civil servant is a priori available for a total of five years.

Goal of the Foundation Professorship is the promotion of research as well as scientific and clinical training in pediatric urology. According to the objectives of the foundation, adequate representation of pediatric urology in research, teaching and patient care is one the major tasks. The scientific qualification should be documented by an independent research profile with corresponding external fund raising and publications. Cooperation with other research groups of the Faculty of Medicine is expected. The Faculty of Medicine offers study programs in Medicine and Dentistry, a bachelor/master program in Molecular Medicine and a master program in Medical Process Management.

Prerequisites for employment are a completed university education in medicine, board certification of urology, a MD or PhD degree, excellent teaching skills, and additional scientific achievements. The latter are documented by a “habilitation”, by a previous junior faculty position or by equivalent appointments and positions outside academia.

Division of Urology / Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center

The Division of Pediatric Urology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is currently seeking a board eligible/certified MD who has completed a pediatric urology fellowship. Individuals with an interest in developing a basic science research project as a part of their career development are highly desirable. Faculty appointments are granted through the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine and the level/rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
