About Brugge and Belgium
  • In 2002, Brugge earned the title of European City of Culture.
The city has won international acclaim for its artistic and cultural heritage, canals, medieval streets, winding lanes and enchanting parks and gardens.

  • Already renowned as one of the fastest growing seaports in Europe, the city combines industry and enterprise with art and culture.

  • Bruges is home to Belgium's second largest football club, Club Brugge, who remain one of the focal points of Flemish cultural identity throughout the Flanders region.

  • Bruges is made for walking, and that’s just what you’ll do … ( Bring your comfortable shoes)

  • Brugge’s chocolates are internationally renowned. Come and find out why!

  • Brugge has its own brewery and its own beer, and there is a whole lot more of the latter to sample! Brugge only has 20,000 inhabitants (Only half of the number of people that were living there in 1350). Still, Brugge remains one of the nicest cultural cities. Hence why some 3.5 million tourists visit Brugge every year.

  • The historic city centre of Brugge was added to Unesco’s World Heritage List. The current city boundaries still coincide exactly with those of the medieval city centre, and the spaces and structures that were so typical of Bruges in the past have been preserved.
